The Sky is White, Paint It As You Like
Life is, as many assume it to be, a composite of structure, order, and routine. We live our daily lives on replay with a monotonous hum of a noisy fridge in the background. You can get used to it and it can even go unnoticed for days/months/years but once someone points it out, or you finally take notice, then it can be annoying to the point of madness. I had recently left my job and am about to prepare my next chapter in life. With that in mind, or perhaps subconsciously, I felt an urge to wear this white checkered Oxford shirt by H&M as representation of that orderly and mindless routine of my work-centric life. To me, the grid was symmetrical and clean - comforting from the messes of the unknown but after months of boring routine I wanted, no…needed to break out and be spontaneous. Enjoy life as it was meant to be. As a blogger, a fashion addict, a creative, an instagrammer - with a camera in hand, a pen and paper in bag, and friends at arm’s reach. Did I break out? Well my face did go through an ordeal from all the stress at work (imagine a zombie apocalypse bursting out their graves and flooding the cemetery gate…not pretty) but that’s not what I’m talking about! I had such an amazing time breaking out from my jail of the humdrum of routine that I laughed out loud the entire trip with @cvin519, @__paganpoetry, @savoringseas and @donborsch (for a bit). As you can see, my face is lit with joy and a smile so big you’d think I am an asian version of Bugs Bunny.
